Some people get anxiety just thinking about going to see a dentist. At Mapleridge Children and Adult Dentistry, we strive to
keep an environment that is welcoming and comfortable for all our patients, since they must come in for visits at least once every six months. Having a positive experience at a dental office is important because it helps relieve any stresses the patient may come in with and helps their next visit run a bit smoother. We are a family friendly dentistry, so bring in you parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles and children!
Bring Your Child In For A Check Up
It is important for children to get into the habit of practicing good oral hygiene. Start gently brushing their teeth as soon as they start coming in and once old enough to comprehend the whole process, teach them how to brush their own teeth and how to floss. Their first visit should be around their first birthday. The earlier you get them acquainted with dental visits the sooner they become less anxious about going in for their regular visits. Doing these things will help them develop the proper oral care practices to help avoid early cavities, gum disease and other health problems that may come from poor oral care.
